Talent Acquisition Manager

NorthStar Memorial Group is currently seeing a Talent Acquisition Manager for our home office in Houston, Texas in the Galleria!

Overview and Responsibilities:

The Talent Acquisition Manager will achieve staffing objectives by working with all divisions and location management in anticipating staffing needs, building applicant pool, recruiting (identifying applicants through numerous sources including social media, job boards, networking, etc.), evaluating candidates; coordinating interviews, advising managers and assisting with the onboarding of all new hires.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).  Must be able to effectively communicate to internal personnel as well as external sources and applicants.
  • Extensive knowledge of social media and how it can help identify qualified candidates.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Flexible personality, able to switch focus and attention when called to do so.

HR Coordinator

NorthStar Memorial Group is seeking a systems-savvy team player to join our all-star HR team in the San Mateo, California office.  The HR Coordinator’s primary responsibilities are to provide support of Human Resource functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee benefits, and employee relations. You will assist with various programs and support the Human Resources Department through completion of regularly assigned duties and special projects.

Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel (i.e. must know how to do V-lookups, Pivot tables, etc.)
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Word (i.e. must know how to conduct a mail merge).
  • Experience with HRIS database systems.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills. Minimum of three years’ experience in the HR field.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and computer literacy.
  • Bilingual preferred, not required.

Contract Support Specialist

NorthStar Memorial Group is currently seeing a Contract Support Specialist for our home office in Houston, Texas in the Galleria!

Overview and Responsibilities: 

The Contract Support Specialist position is for the individual with a background as an administrative assistant and customer service.  Administrative employees are team members skilled in timely completion of routine tasks relative to office operations (communications, correspondence, and inventory maintenance). Responsibility for specific tasks may vary depending on location needs and preferences of individual managers and/or funeral directors. This position reports to the Client Service Director, and is responsible for the coordination of all administrative tasks required for client family arrangements, and the production, filing, and maintenance of all records related to arrangements.

Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • PC skills in a Windows based environment.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to read/process instructions from NSMG customers with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work within established timeframes/deadlines.
  • High level of honesty and integrity.
  • Able to operate office equipment and computers with accurate results and effectively use typical office software.

Desktop Support Specialist

NorthStar Memorial Group (NSMG) is looking for a Desktop Support Specialist to be located in our Dallas office to support existing IT systems.  The Specialist will work closely with IT home office and external departments to ensure computer systems are functioning correctly.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for desktop applications.
  • Manage new computer rollouts.
  • Support existing computer systems and peripherals.
  • Manage hardware and software inventory.
  • Provide tier 2 support for issues escalated from the helpdesk, including executive support.
  • Provide tier 1 and 2 support for home office computer issues.
  • Develop processes and documentation for the helpdesk.
  • Manage MFP inventory.
  • Design and support AV system rollouts at locations.
  • Manage infrastructure cabling.
  • Phone system support – phone installation, voicemail setup.
  • On-call support rotation

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with Microsoft computer operating systems.
  • Strong experience with end user phone system support.
  • Some experience with Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and maintaining computer systems and network infrastructure related issues.
  • Experience supporting multiple locations.
  • Knowledge of basic network connectivity with the desktop and local area networks.
  • 2+ years of progressive experience in computer administration and troubleshooting.
  • Certification – A+, Network+, MTA

NorthStar Memorial Group is currently seeking a Licensed Funeral Director at Boza & Roel Funeral Home located in Tampa, Florida.

Overview and Responsibilities:

The Funeral Director provides professional service to client families before, during and after the loss of a loved one. The role and duty of the Funeral Director entails all phases of the funeral industry - from the removal of the deceased from the place of death, preparation of the body and arrangement conference, to serving the family on the service and final disposition.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent); completion of a diploma-training program at a college or technical school specializing in Funeral Services.
  • Funeral Director license in the State of Florida.
  • Knowledge of computers and software, or willingness to learn.
  • Previous customer service and/or sales experience.
